Halloween 2007

Just two pics. The girls had a ton of fun - I have to admit it, so did we!
Happy Fright Night!! Hope you all got lots of candy!! :)

Happy Halloween!!!

So my daughter tried to get away with a skimpy Minnie Mouse costume this year...uh-unh! No way, Jose! Until the costume meets approval, no trick or treating...so I'll leave you with some pictures of last year's fun in the neighborhood:

I hope there are new pictures to post later! I bought some really cute accessories for the costumer. It'd be a shame for them to go to waste!

Happy Candy eating day!! :)

The pumpkin is colored :)

more challenges:
SU stamps, chalk inks, DCWV patterned paper, scalloped punch, orange rhinestones from Michaels, Ribbon is a nice soft one, but I don't remember where it came from :( I think it was in a set of 3 or 5 coordinating ones.

The butterfly image is from Karen Lockhart stamps, greeting is SU. Paper is CTMH, ribbon is VELVET (and very, very soft) from Oriental Trading catalog. Prisma pencils colored the butterfly and a couple brads from Bazzill finish it off.

With the last card, I had already posted it without coloring the pumpkin. Since several of you wrote that it would be better colored in, let's see if this helps a bit. I was afraid the ink would smear if I colored the pumpkin which is why I left it. I'm also just not that great at coloring sometimes, lol.

I"m off to go and get into bed. Feeling a bit tired today and it's chilly out. I think the electric blanket is already on high....better catch those cozy covers right now! ;-)

Happy Autumn, Everyone!

10.27.07 cards

It's still nice and sunny but cold in Seattle! :) Hope it lasts through Halloween. I have a few more cards to show, but need to get working on my kid's Halloween costume. She is going as one of the characters from Disney...their group is all going as a Disney character. I hope I get some good pictures of them to share! Last year I got a really great series of pictures and made a really cute little Halloween mini scrapbook...If I get a chance I'll take some pictures later today.

The Hawaiian card is for a challenge - Tracy's Birthday card challenge! You could choose either Disney or a Hawaiian theme. I was too lazy to dig out Disney stamps, so this is what was made.

Day #17 challenge - The rose & gold colored card is made with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and gold pearl ex applied to the raised portion. (I used Versamark to make the Pearl Ex stick). Simple and easy - under 10 minutes from start to finish...except I added the brads which were embossed with gold e.p. - it took me a while to find my tweezers to hold the brad while it was heating, so that actually doubled the time it took to make the card - but still under 30 minutes!

Also, I wag tagged by Nitestamper. I'm supposed to tell you random things about me...and then tag 7 more people. I'm pretty lame when it comes to these tagging games especially if they involve doing a lot...this one I think I can handle though. Except I am not sure that I know 7 people who have not already been tagged....I will give it a shot anyway.

Randomness about me:

1) I've worked for one company more than 17 years (now that's a LONG time!)

2) I would rather stay home than scurry around for vacation - that way I can do whatever I want, whenever I want to! - no planes to catch, deadlines, or anything else....just hangin out stampin & visiting friends and family!

3) Little kids are drawn to me and always want me to play with them!!

4) Favorite foods - Bruschetta, Open faced crab sandwich from Cutters Bayhouse, ice cream - Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia, and homemade macaroni & cheese

5) I watch HGTV or TLC at bedtime almost every night....

6) I love to entertain and make special meals for friends and family, but have done very little since we got our Westie...she makes my life stressful at times with all that barking...but hubby and the kids love her...

7) I LOVE color - in my house, in my wardrobe, in nature, everywhere...I love to see color!!!

Thanks for stopping by

More Cards...

From Day #13 (another Challenge at Angelosity):

From Day #9's Challenge
Question: The pumpkin - should I color it?

From the Challenge on Day 18:
The sentiment/greeting is a rub on that says "Thanks" - it came out really blurry in the pic :(

From the Challenge on Day 3 at Angelosity:
stamps are from SU, flower is a leftover Jolee's embellishment

A few more from challenges that I was playing with during the week will be uploaded later today :)

Having Fun, Keeping Busy!

A few more cards for the challenges at Angelosity:
I think I will add a prima flower on the left of the horizontal card.

I took the musical set out because there was another part of the challenge that it needed and I just realized I didn't finish that part! You'll see it again later on! ;-)

I do like the others - the green/pink/guava argyle & striped papers were from a CK convention class with Cathy Zielske (I think it was last year).

That's all for today! Goodnight!

Sneaking a picture of my daughter in here!

She is growing up so fast!! She's pictured on our deck with two buddies! Aren't they cute!?

A couple more cards

These were made over the weekend. The set is from the SU Holiday Mini catalog. It is called Season of Joy. I added Martha Stewart Glitter to the silvery one, and some other light blue glitter on the second one. There are red dewdrops from the Robin's Nest (aka baubles from stampingbella.com) on the tree and a chipboard piece covered with patterned paper and stamped with Merry Christmas. Thanks for stopping by! Have you started any holiday cards yet? Don't wait! It's just around the corner!

Seattle's weather was a gorgeous and beautiful 77 degrees today!!! Wooo hooo!! Now if we could just get the wildfires in Southern CA under control, I'd be happy! We have a lot of friends and family there - and we're praying that everyone is ok! My neighbor who was in San Diego this week is coming home early tonight...but she said the airport is very crowded! Revise on airport - she said is WASN'T crowded...I must have needed a hearing aid that day!

Angelosity Challenge cards

I had time this weekend to stamp & do some sketch challenges at Angelosity! Here's what I ended up with. There will likely be more cards this week! In case YOU want to play along, check out Angelosity! (the link is right below--) http://angelosity.blogspot.com/

Be sure to click on my acorn card so you can see the top of the nut where I did the crosshatch in tone on tone - the stitching isn't my favorite but oh well, too late now.

Good Luck card is just one of the dollar stamps from Michael's...it was the simple card and uses staples at the edges - they're hot pink - can you tell?

The yellow striped card uses Dotted Autumn from Stampin Up, the free hostess set called "Party Punch" (that stamp would the the little tab saying on the left, and is a pull out card so you actually can see the pretty scroll design), and the fun whimsical set called "Autumn Fest".

The challenge was to use these Stampin Up colors: Pumpkin Pie, Bravo Burgundy and Summer sun as well. I got the colors out, but was out of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, so there's just a little tad of it on the 'pull out card. But the ink is Pumpkin Pie! ;-) I had a hard time not adding MORE to the card....

Oh yea, I had to go with three little tiny rhinestones at the bottom - two of them just weren't enough! They are from K & Co./Brenda Walton and also have black and clear rhinestones in the same package! I bought mine from Frugalities.com - yes, even after the bad episode with the broken Prima bottle....they paid for my order, so I gave them another chance; and another and another...well you can see where that leads....to the poorhouse! lol. I'll put more up in a little bit! Thanks for stopping by!

Someday I hope to have even half of her creative talent! Ellen had posted another card that she liked on her blog and said to check out Zindorf's gallery - so I did....and jaw dropped on this one! I LOVE her style!

A few new cards

Here are a few new cards:

The green paisley background card uses our old designer paper, May Arts Ribbon, and the tag alphabet set that was in one of the mini catalogs from either a spring or summer issue a couple of years ago.

One of thecards is supposed to be able to be viewed in two ways....can you tell which one? I sure hope you can tell! LOL. The stamps are from SU. Flowers were embossed in black then colored with chalks - lots of people have done that - I thought it was really pretty when I saw other cards, but it just didn't do much for me when I put my own card together...

The cow card (It's a birthday card and inside says, "You're aging very well!") However the challenge for this card is that it cannot outright say Happy Birthday! Stamp is SU, the background oval is A-Muse, felt flowers & brown grossgrain ribbon from American Crafts.

Clown card: I just won the clown set in an Ebay auction and wanted to make the chocolate chip, bashful blue and certainly celery card - the second challenge for Jen's blog. Flowers are cute little felt dealies from American Crafts. I got all three sizes!! :) I know I shouldn't have but I was justifying it because they were meant for another project. So I killed two birds with one stone! YAY! The background paper is actually a large sheet that has glitter centers on the flowers. I love the colors and it just happened to have the same colors as Jen's challenge! The background paper is from K & Co. one of the Amy Butler patterned paper pads.

I'm going to watch Grey's tonight, so that's all I've got! I hope to craft again this weekend and get packages off to people (like my blog candy winner who did email me her address!). I hate the post office - it's such a stinkin hassle around here to go and drop packages. Actually it's the parking (or lack of) that is the pain in the butt.... Good night, ladies!

Jan Scholl, email or pm me please~~

I posted that you won the blog candy, but am not sure if you saw that you won! If you don't claim it soon, I won't be able to get it over to you before Halloween!! Should I re-draw if I don't hear back by Saturday the 13th?? Or should I wait until the 20th?

Jan, my email is eyp963@msn.com....

Happy Tuesday ladies! I am missing Boston Legal!!! ACK!

Two more cards!

These challenges were for the Earth card and the one layer card! Looks like I didn't clean the stamp very well after the orange flower! yuck!

The little tree card didn't upload :( Here it is....

I may work on this one some more- because I forgot that I wanted to add a little frame around the bubble thing - either some 'frosting dots' or a twig frame - not sure if I'll actually do either, but that's what I was thinking!

Take care!

Cards from WCMD

So I never made it to the event with my buddy - Bad friend, I know. I had an eye thing going on - I wear contacts and one of them just was NOT cooperating! So I stayed home and did stuff on my own. Not nearly as much fun as stamping with friends, but it beats cleaning house and doing laundry!

Here are some cards that were inspired by the challenges from Just Johanna:

First my 'recycled card' - this used the packaging from some metal photo corners from my shopping spree last week. Patterned paper is DASHER from Stampin Up, and I thought it was a new pattern for SU, yet the little trademark says, "Stampin Up 2006" -- shouldn't that have been 2007? Maybe it was available in 2006 and I didn't pay attention to it. The cardstock is the basic Red that I had sitting around - just waiting to be used on Christmas cards. (I don't think it is SU though). Images are stamped on Paper Trey white (which I love, love, love!!!!!! WOW! If you haven't tried it yet, you really need to!) Though the little deer from Merry & Bright (SU) was colored with copics, the white paper trey paper does not 'shred' when you use the blender pen and chalks on it! Get some today - you won't be sorry!

Second card is the same thing - recycled packaging from my scrapbook spree, and a tree instead of a snowman. Oh, yes! It does not show :( but I also stamped tiny white snowflakes on the bubble thingie with Staz on Cotton white, and added some glitter to the inside (I was hoping for a snow globe-ish effect but that's not what I ended up with). My eye was having trouble yesterday, so I can't help if it turned out kind of wonky!

The next card was for a challenge that used:
Pink & Green
Polka Dots
A button or buttons
Clear overlay
& Scallops
The color on the dress came out in the picture wayyyyy offf.....I would not have matched them up if it were this far off, ladies!

There was also a challenge for NO Patterned Paper!! That was fun - I used an old stamp set from SU - I love how rich the colors came out - the background is the old weathered wood BG, and it has antique brass pearl-ex all over - it's shimmery and pretty in real life!

And last, I have a card made with my current Favorite stamp: It is the one that I got from the SU order last week...The colors look so pretty together in real life - not something I'd normally put together, (in fact, I don't like the guava at all)....but I like it in this combo! Image was colored with chalks and blender pen. Notice there's no pilling/shredding on the white? That's because it is PAPER TREY WHITE!! ;-)

That's it for me. That's what I did in between bouts of spending sprees yesterday on World Card Making Day! Later I will show you some of the goodies that I bought the other day and some of what I bought today too....my aunt came over to visit and we spent the day looking at cards and then shopping at the craft stores! Au revior!

Saturday's are lazy days around my house....

...and days to announce the blog candy winner!

I couldn't resist sleeping in late this morning - so I'm not at the all day WCMD event yet. (Oops!)

The closest guess for the blog candy was Jan Scholl who guessed 266.66. I should have known better. I used to go in every Wednesday at our local scrapbook store and do their free class which was a mini-album or something similar. That free class always ended up costing me $50-$100! No wonder I was getting free punch cards and other goodies! I ended up spending 293.32 last Saturday and then came home and place an SU order of 354.36 before midnight. Yep, I'm in trouble now....

Places where the crimes were committed: Starbucks, scrapbook event raffle tickets (for a good cause!), a Taco place, Scrapbook store, Micheal's, and lastly another Starbucks. I also had not ordered any new stamp sets from the holiday mini catalog yet, so I got the ones I wanted, and then realized I missed a couple of things that I was supposed to get....not sure if I can afford to buy anymore stuff at this point though.

Jan Scholl, please email me your address and I will get these off to you asap so you can have fun with them for Halloween! Also let me know if you want a blank mini accordian book or if you want the one that is semi-made up with Halloween schtuff on it!

Just a few more hours to enter for some Halloween blog candy!

It's been nice to see all the kind comments!!! Thanks much for taking the time to stop by and post and peek at what I've been up to! Saturday I've got another 'date' with my buddy for an all day WCMD event. (WCMD = World card making day).

You have until 11:00 a.m. to leave your guess!

Hope you all get to have fun creating!

Our weather is cold and wet - surprise, surprise....

Candy pic uploaded.

I finally finished the candy pics. I hope you can see what things are...it won't include the little tin container, but it does include a batch of goodies for Halloween projects: May Arts ribbon in Halloween colors (the black one is a cool swirly braided design!), 3-D stickers (really cute, from Michaels), Primas (Daisies, 'Got Flowers', sweet n sassies, etc., 3 little Halloween tags that I made, glitter in purple, orange and green, 5 little rhinestoney bling sticker things in halloween designs - a bat, a ghost, candy corn, spider, and the word, "BOO!" (I used them on scrapbooks and cards- you can do whatever you want with them), a cute little ghost cookie cutter (I like them on our little spooky black Halloween branches), and a little accordian book for Halloween pics. If you'd prefer a blank accordian book to decorate yourself, just let me know! It wouldn't offend me a bit if you wanted to do your own instead! Happy guessing!

Scroll down a little for the blog candy post...

Sorry, I started writing it on Saturday and posted it today....still don't have the pics taken yet! But will soon....Please put all guesses on the post below - that's where I'll look for the winner! :)
